PostSubject: I'm appalled at the president's priorities   Thu Nov 20, 2014 1:38 pm

It seems to me that our president is more concerned about illegals than the citizens of our country. Why are services to our citizens shutting down due to the lack of funds, yet the president seems to think it's ok to spend millions on illegals?

At a Thanksgiving dinner recently, I spoke to a disabled veteran who can no longer keep appointments at the veterans hospital because their bus is no longer in service. Lack of funding, they told her. So she can depend on family, which she has none in the area, take a regular bus, but since she's in a wheel chair, that's nearly impossible, or call a taxi and not eat for the next month. I'm sure she'll work it out, but something's very wrong here.

And I voted for this man.

This description is in no way intended for you Brenda, but we must remember what Presidential advisor Jonathan Gruber said when referring to Obamacare... that the American public was stupid. They must be. Look who they elected President... TWICE! (The takers are starting to outnumber the givers.)

The takers have always outnumbered the givers. The takers have just found it so easy that they just keep wanting more!

As for the illegals...MORE TAKER VOTES!

Yes, to both of you. When our elected officials are more concerned with getting more votes to stay in office than what's best for the American citizens, it's sad. And disgusting.

I truly thought Obama would be good for the country, so I voted for him - the first time. I make mistakes in life, but I hope I learn from them.

Hindsight is 20/20.  We place our hopes on leaders who we want to believe will deliver what they promise.  In our form of democracy, the most well-intended leaders cannot deliver.  They don't have the power of a dictator.  I don't recall who said it, but the quote is:  "The best government would be with a benevolent dictator.".
From the very beginning of Obama's election, the GOP vowed to make him fail.  How many of us would continue to work knowing that whatever we propose would be blocked?  ACA was something needed and if the only thing he accomplished while in office was to give people affordable healthcare, he succeeded.  One cannot appreciate the value of healthcare until they need it.
As for immigration reform, that problem seems to carry forward from one Administration to another.  Former Presidents used Executive Orders for a temporary fix, but it was not a long-term solution.  From what I read and hear, that is still the problem.

Sometimes I just want to keep my mouth shut and not say anything.  Afterall, I am not personally affected and it is not my problem.   I cannot live with that attitude.  I realize that "There, but for the Grace of God, go I." Those who care, speak out. Those who don't care, usually say nothing - at least nothing constructive.

My views are not the norm.  My sympathies are with the oppressed.  I usually side with the underdog.  It's just who I am.  The more someone beats up on a person, the more I am inclined to take up for that person.
